2018 Douglas Bostock Bangkok Conducting Masterclass

Hosted by the Music Faculty of Silpakorn University, Bangkok
in collaboration with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and the Feroci Philharmonic Society

General Information
The Masterclass is open to conductors of any nationality. The number of active participants will be limited to a maximum of ten.

The Masterclass will provide an extensive range of conducting opportunities and generous podium time for conductors to work with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, as well as ensembles from the Music Faculty of Silpakorn University, Bangkok, under expert guidance and tutelage of Maestro Douglas Bostock www.douglasbostock.net

The Masterclass will be held in English. In certain circumstances translations into Thai may be available.

An unlimited number of passive participants (auditors) may attend the Masterclass.

Participants are required to provide their own scores in the correct editions.

Application
The deadline for the submission of applications is 31st December 2017 at the e-mail address: ferociphilharmonicsociety@gmail.com. The following documents must be attached to the application:

a. Identity card / passport scanned or photocopied

b. A short biography in English containing information about musical education and activity, conducting experience to date, and a list of main repertoire conducted.

c. Video of the applicant conducting, made during the last 18 months, ca. 10 minutes, sent as a YouTube link or other URL.

Applicants will be informed if they are accepted as active participants by 3rd January 2018.

The application fee of 12,000.00 THB for applicants of Thai nationality, and 350 Euros for foreigners is payable on acceptance of the applicant to the Maserclass, at the latest by 7th January 2018.

On 16.2.2018 Maestro Bostock will rehearse with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (including the Masterclass repertoire) 18:00-21:00. This rehearsal is open to the active Masterclass participants.
