Showcase returns with more Freshly Squeezed Sounds, straight from the heart of Bangkok's artistic underground. Emerging talents are brought to the Live Lounge stage and showcased for your pleasure, free of charge. At SHOWCASE, new and established artists use the Live Lounge stage to connect with a diverse and captive audience in Bangkok. This February, Live Lounge favourites Talley Berry and Thatsapol Koedkhumtong will be returning to the stage, after which we will be showcasing some new sounds, freshly plucked from the melting pot. Bangkok is bubbling over with musical talent, and Live Lounge is committed to unearthing these Freshly Squeezed Sounds.

***2 Blind Mice***
Jon is a Hawaiian solo singer with an infectious smile. He was inspired by local Hawaiian musicians and singer/songwriters like Mike Love. Maurizio is a guitar wizard and beat boxer, who has played classical guitar his whole life. The story goes that they first met playing in a jazz bar in Rome, and from that moment forged a musical connection. They play a unique and varied style of music, which often follows a narrative. Jon's voice and Maurizio’s lightning fast fingers create an atmosphere of pure inspiration and drag you into a state of awe, perhaps a trance. Your heart will be sure to skip a few beats.
***Talley Berry + Friends***
The charming Live Lounge favourite, Talley studied music theory and played percussion and piano as a child before picking up the guitar at the age of 17. Since 2014, he has lived in Thailand, where he sings and plays both Thai and English songs (as well as his favourite bossa nova classics) at bars and restaurants around Bangkok. ***Thatsapol Koedkhumtong***
During school, while his friends studied in class, Thatsapol a.k.a “Striker” would play guitar, and it quickly became apparent this was one talented young man. After completing his studies; inspired by Greenday, Muse and Queen, “Striker” decided to pursue a career in music; seeking to emulate their mastery. He now studies Jazz at the college of music at Mahidol University and has a distinct and memorable voice, which is sure to earn him recognition very soon. A star in the making
Making her Live Lounge debut...
***Claire Stanley***
Claire is an actor/musician/DJ/singer/songwriter from the UK and this is her third year in Bangkok. She plays and sings a range of music from blues, funk, soul to rock, psychedelic and electro. Claire can mainly be seen around Bangkok playing with her band The Groove Junkies and she also makes guest appearances singing with other bands on the Bangkok music scene.
As long as she can remember she has always sang.. One day when she was 9 her Grandad bought an organ so she had lessons and eventually progressed on to keyboards. She is self-taught on the guitar and also enjoys experimenting with percussion.
After studying Performing Arts and Music she was a DJ and also in an alternative band performing original music. When her band split she took a break to travel and has only recently returned to performing her own original material. As her voice is her strongest instrument she likes to experiment with harmonies and vocal loops. In terms of influences there are just too many artists to mention. Different genres influence different aspects of her personality and performance. Ultimately she digs anything that grooves and anything that can have an emotional impact and relate to life.

***Jordan Bradley Munger***
He's only been performing music for about two years, but he's been an active performer from the get-go, and was welcomed into the live music scene in Bangkok with open arms. He funded most of his international travels with his music and decided to settle in Bangkok to focus on growing and devekoping his personal brand as an artist. His major influences range from jazz, soul, r&b and funk to blues, rock, indie and pop. Someone once told him that if John Legend and Adele made a baby, he would sound like Jordan!
"My goals as a musician this year in Thailand is to record as much as possible, coordinate and collaborate with other musicians and/or record labels, and develop something beyond the solo acoustic musician. My Thai songs are a new addition to my shows and I hope to improve my pronunciation skills over this next year. It would be awesome to collaborate with locals writers here and write some Thai songs as well if possible. I plan to do big things here and will never be afraid of a bigger stage."
Making his Live Lounge Debut...
***DJ Crooze Kutz***
Sam arrived in Bangkok from Cambodia five years ago, having worked in construction. He built a club in Siem Reap and was mesmerized by the DJ's and their ability to create such a vibrant atmosphere with their music.
Armed with his dreams, his work ethic and an affable personality, he made friends wherever he went and set up his famous Sukhumvit Street Bar, Mojitobike, which was thriving before being closed down by the police. He saved up enough money to buy his first controller and has been honing his skills in the city ever since. He is self-taught and learned everything from watching friends DJ, then practicing in his bedroom studio in Sukhumvit.
He got his first gig at Sofitel Hotel where he played Deep House music and, not restricting himself to one genre, spun Hip Hop/commercial music at Bangkok Betty's. Now he arrives at Live Lounge, where he will hold together our night of special, acoustic performances, with his natual talent for creating good vibes.
